René Frey

René Frey is the CEO at Apa Publications, the people behind Insight Guides travel books. In the media and publishing industry since 1996, René was the Managing Director of magazines and a daily newspaper, prior to Apa.

With an MBA in digital media, René took over reins of the APA group in 2014 and transformed the business by leveraging the rich content & brand heritage of Insight Guides to form www.insightguides.com, an online marketplace for customizing and booking authentic, bespoke holidays. Just recently René acquired also Rough Guides www.roughguides.com and is planning to convert it in a similar direction as Insight Guides.

Having traveled across more than 125 cities in Europe, South & North America, Middle East and Asia himself, René is keen on helping travelers across the globe to embark on their dream holiday and is in Singapore for a few weeks to support his new online team at Insight Guides.
