Liakat Dhanji

An accomplished real estate developer, property investor and marketer with over three decades of experience, Mr. Liakat Dhanji is the visionary behind Cartoon Network Amazone, the world's first Cartoon Network-themed waterpark. Located in Bang Saray, Thailand, Cartoon Network Amazone is operated by Amazon Falls Co. Ltd., the company Liakat founded to realize his dream of bringing high-quality, family-friendly recreation to the place he calls home.

Liakat has overall responsibility for an investment property development and management services company working in partnership with Turner Broadcasting Asia Pacific, Inc., the owner and operator of Cartoon Network. Liakat’s vision is to bring the world of Cartoon Network, its stories and famous characters to life like never before, simultaneously creating an international-caliber destination that contributes substantially to the local economy and its people. Comprising hotels, retail, entertainment facilities and spas it will be one of the largest destination resorts in Asia.

Prior to founding Amazon Falls, Liakat served as Chief Executive Officer of the publicly listed Goldenland PLC, one of Thailand’s leading developers of luxury homes, retail, hotels and high-rise condominiums. From 1998 to 2005 he was responsible for award-winning hotels and executive residences including The Mayfair Marriott, The Infinity, One Sathorn Square and The Ascott Sathorn. Prior to his time in Thailand, he was Managing Director of real estate consultancy firm Vigers International, based in Hong Kong.
