Chee Kong is the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of GlobalTix Pte Ltd, a leader in ticketing technology in Southeast Asia’s tourism industry.

GlobalTix offers an integrated solution to the operators of Tours and Activities, enabling them to instantly distribute their products to a global network of distribution channels. Its solution, which spans omni-channels, encompasses point-of-sales and direct online bookings, as well as through a growing network of over 2,000 travel agents – one of the largest in Asia.

GlobalTix’s innovative cloud-based technology has an outstanding feature: it is able to aggregate all attraction tickets into one single instant e-ticket to cover a traveller’s entire needs – via a singular QR code.

For its contributions to the tourism industry, GlobalTix was accorded the “Best Business Innovation Award” by the Singapore Tourism Board in 2019.

As COO, Chee Kong is responsible for the start-up’s administration, operations and fund-raising to grow it. He was instrumental in the establishment of GlobalTix’s network of offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand which were set up over a brief period of four years to support its growth in the region.

On the operations front, he developed an operations team to streamline business flows to optimise efficiencies for the fast-growing company. Besides operations, Chee Kong, together with the Chief Financial Officer, led fundraising efforts which resulted in GlobalTix securing multiple rounds of financing from venture capital as well as commercial banks.

In November 2018, GlobalTix raised S$12.5 million from Singapore-based venture firm, Tin Men Capital. His keen eye for finance is the result of the 20 years he spent in the finance industry in the region. Before co-founding GlobalTix in 2014, Chee Kong’s last role in finance was as the Head of Private Equity of a family office in Singapore. He also spent time in key positions with leading financial institutions in the region. He honed his corporate finance expertise working with Goldman Sachs (Asia) LLC and DBS Bank. Chee Kong has an MBA (Dean’s List) from Columbia Business School (New York) and Bachelor in Accountancy (First Class) degree from Nanyang Technology University, Singapore
